Bugis and Arabic Morphology: A Contrastive Analysis

This study is aimed at (1) describing the process of word formation using al-ziyaadah and affixation in Bugis Arabic, (2) revealing meaning forming a (3) analyzing similarities differences substances produced by affixations Arabic. The research applied library linguistic approach. primary data was collected identified through textbook; then, types affixes both languages were analyzed. forms that adhere to have an affix compared, final step make conclusions based on comparisons explore some differences. results indicated Arabic al-ziyaadah, namely, al-sawaabiq, al-hasyw, al-lawaahiq, al-muzdawijah. Meanwhile, language, affixation. Buginese language are prefixes, infixes, suffixes, confixes, affixes. with same as al-sawaabiq al-hasyw infix, al-lawaahiq al-muzdawijah confixes. combination only exists language. words contain overall ninety-eight meanings, generates thirty-six generate sixty-two meanings. could be valuable reference for further researchers who want prevent regional extinction modern era.
